The national language in Pakistan is Urdu and official language is English but no Muslim citizen can deny the importance of Arabic language. Every Muslim has a deep love for Arabic language and also has a strong ambition to learn it especially for the purpose of understanding the Holy Quran. But the typical way to learn Arabic, which is practised in Arabic Madrasas is long and tiresome. So, the people take Arabic as a difficult and complicated language and unluckily ,find themselves incapable to learn it. Maulana Muhammad Bashir al Sialkoti introduced a modern methodology and a new easy and fruitful syllabi ,compiled by himself to teach Arabic language. Thousands of Pakistani people benefitted from his scholarly contribution. Even the Arab scholars appreciated his remarkable work in this regard and gave him the title of “ the defender of Arabic language in Pakistan’’ .In the following pages a brief introduction of Maulana Muhammad Bashir alSialkoti’s life and concise summary of his contribution in the field of Arabic language is being presented.
